Donation Yoga Class with Jake benefiting Food Not Bombs

Bio: Jake is a yogi-scholar and east coast convert from New Jersey, currently studying cognitive science at UC Berkeley.  Starting his practice as a teen fresh out of high school in New York City, Jake entered his first yoga class to get a low-impact workout. What he got was much more than what he signed up for.  Sweating through an hour of weird contortions in a heated room seemed sadistic at first, but the element of surrender in the practice, particularly in savasana, proved to be one of the most healing moments of his life. Describing yoga as a powerful medicine, Jake was hooked from the start.

Jake teaches a deep-flow Vinyasa class, where students can safely explore the practice in a playful, heartfelt way.  His classes emphasize both breath and intention as powerful tools to bring healing connection into our lives. Jake finished his 200-hour teacher certification with Pete Guinosso at Yoga Tree, and continues to study with Pete through an ongoing mentorship program.
